heute möchte ich Euch mal zeigen, wo ich arbeite, werkle, kreiere – wo ich einen Großteil meiner Zeit verbringe. Hier entstehen all die süßen larilou-Sachen

Hello Lovelies,

today I'm gonna show you where I work, craft, create – where I spend a big part of my time, where all those cute larilou-things are made.

Eins der wichtigsten Teile ist natürlich meine Nähmaschine, die mir schon seit fast zehn Jahren treue Dienste leistet. Es ist keine High-Tech Maschine, aber ein paar angenehme Eigenschaften hat sie schon, ausserdem eine Auswahl an Zierstichen, die ich schon des öfteren verwende. Der Wichtigste Stich neben dem Gerad- und Zickzackstich, ist dieser Quiltstich, mit dem ich eigentlich alle meine Applikationen nähe.

Of course one of the most important parts is my sewing machine, that has been serving me for almost ten years now. It's not a high-tech machine, but it's comfortable to work with and has several fancy stitches that I use often. The most important stitch for me beside the straight stitch and the zigzag is that quilt-stitch that I use for all of my appliqués

Right next to the sewing-machine is my ironing board and then the long desk with the serger and the computer.

Hinter dem Computerbildschirm hab ich ein Regalfach mit einer kleinen Magnet-Pinwand und vielen kleinen Dingen, über die mich jedesmal freue, wenn ich sie anschaue. Ein Foto von meiner Tochter, ein Kalender von einer lieben Freundin, ein paar Karten mit schönen nostalgischen Motiven, die Magnete aus London ein schöner Stein und einiges mehr.

Behind the computer screen there is a shelf with a small magnetic pinboard and all those little things that I love looking at. A photo of my daughter, a calendar that was a gift from a dear friend of mine, a couple of vintage postcards, the 'underground' magnets that I bought in London, a beautiful crystal and some more....

Ich mag mein Arbeitszimmer sehr gerne, weil es so viele Fenster hat und dadurch immer sehr hell und freundlich ist.

Tea Time

Jetzt wo die Tage wieder kürzer und kälter werden, mache ich es mir gerne mit einer Kanne dampfendem Tee gemütlich. Weil ich auch altes Porzellan so gerne mag, verwende ich des Öfteren die schönen alten Blümchen-Porzellan-Kannen, von denen ich eine ganze Sammlung im Schrank stehen habe. Und damit es stilecht ist und der Tee nicht so schnell kalt wird, hab ich mir diverse nostalgische Wärmehauben genäht. Da ich die aber natürlich nicht alle brauche, hab ich auch welche in den Shop gestellt. Die Hauben sind richtig dick wattiert und halten den Tee/Kaffee in der Kanne mindestens eine Stunde heiß.

Now that the days are getting shorter and colder, I love to snuggle up on the sofa with a pot of steaming tea. And because I love vintage china I often use my pretty teapots with the flowery decor. To stay in style and to keep the tea hot, I made several tea cozies. Well of course I don't need them all and so I listed some in my shop. The cozies have a thick batting that keeps the tea hot for at least an hour.

Prag - Prague

Kürzlich war ich für ein Wochenende in Prag. Irgendwie hat es mich da nie hingezogen, für den Wochenendausflug hab ich mich der Mehrheit gefügt – und ich wurde nur positiv überrascht. Prag ist wirklich eine bezaubernde Stadt, sie war mir vom ersten Augenblick an total sympathisch. Wunderschöne Jugendstil- und Barock-Häuser – viele kleine gemütliche Cafés...

Prag ist definitiv eine Reise wert!

Recently I was in Prague over the weekend. Somehow I never felt drawn to that city, for the weekend trip I joined the majority so to speak – and it was a pleasant surprise. Prague is an enchanting city, I loved it from the first moment. Beautiful Art Nouveau and baroque houses – lots of little cozy cafés....

Prague is definitely worth a trip.

The Buddha Bag

The Buddha Bag ist meine persönliche Lieblingstasche.

Sie ist so geräumig, dass Du die Einkäufe einer kleineren Shopping-Tour bequem darin unterbringst, behält aber auch die Form, wenn nur Geldbörse, Handy und Autoschlüssel drin sind.

Du kannst sie über der Schulter tragen, aber auch als Cross-Body-Bag.

Sie hat eine praktische kleine Innentasche für kleine Dinge wie Lippenstift, Autoschlüssel oder einen kleinen Notizblock. Ein versteckter Magnetverschluss hält die Tasche am oberen Rand zusammen. Meine Buddha Bag begleitet mich fast täglich und ist auch schon oft mit mir verreist.

Übrigens jede Buddha Bag ist ein absolutes Unikat. Vielleicht ist auch Deine Lieblings-Buddha-Bag dabei?

Warum heißt die Tasche Buddha Bag? Ganz einfach, weil die mit dem Buddha drauf eine der ersten dieser Taschen war, die ich genäht hab. :)

Neue Namenshandtücher - New Personalized Towels

Es gibt neue Namenshandtücher und -duschtücher im Shop. Drei neue Modelle hab ich für Euch kreiert. Es sind noch mehrere geplant, aber im Moment gibt es jetzt erst mal diese drei, jeweils als Handtuch (50 x 100 cm) und Duschtuch (70 x 140 cm) erhältlich im lariloukids-Shop.

Welches ist dein Favorit? Meerjungfrau, Maus oder Walfisch?

There are new personalized towels in the shop. So far I created three new designs, but I have planned to make some more. Anyway for now you can order these three either as a towel (50 x 100 cm) or a shower towel (70 x 140 cm) with your desired name in my lariloukids-shop.

Giverny

Dieser hübsche Briefkasten steht in Giverny in der Normandie. Dort hab ich einen wunderschönen Sommertag im August verbracht, als wir Monet's Haus und Garten besucht haben und anschließend noch durch den hübschen Ort Giverny gebummelt sind. Leider war der Aufenthalt ein bisschen kurz und ich würde gerne wieder einmal in die Normandie reisen und auch länger dort bleiben.

This pretty letterbox I found in Giverny, Normandy, France. I spent a wonderful summer day there in August, when we visited Monet's house and garden and strolled around the lovely village of Giverny. Sadly our time there was limited. I definitely want to travel to Normandy again and stay a bit longer.

Fotoshooting

Letzte Woche besuchte mich meine Freundin Ela für ein kurzes Fotoshooting bevor es dunkel wurde. Das Abendlicht war einfach wunderschön und perfekt für diese stimmungsvollen Fotos.

Last week my friend Ela came over for a short photo session before dusk. The evening light was just beautiful and perfect for these atmospheric photos.

England-France-Trip

Endlich komme ich dazu, Euch von unserer Reise zu erzählen.

So viele km bin ich auf so kurze Zeit noch nie gefahren. Aber es war sehr schön und ich hab die Zeit in meinem geliebten England total genossen. Dort fühle ich mich einfach zu Hause.

Finally I found some time to tell you about our journey.

I never drove so many kilometers in such a short time before. But it was beautiful and I totally enjoyed the time in my beloved England. I really feel at home there.

Die Heimreise durch Frankreich war dann auch noch sehr abwechslungsreich.

On our journey through France we visited various places.

Vor allem hat sich ein jahrelanger Traum von mir erfüllt und ich hatte die Gelegenheit, den wunderschönen Garten von Monet in Giverny (Normandie) zu besuchen.

And first of all a long lasting dream of mine came true: I had the chance to visit Monet's beautiful garden in Giverny (Normandy).

Versailles war der Wunsch meiner Tochter und hat den Besuch auch gelohnt, trotz der Menschenmassen und der guten Stunde Wartezeit vor dem Eingang.

Versailles was my daughter's choice and it was well worth the visit in spite of all the thousands of people waiting at the entrance. Took us more than an hour to get into the castle.

Die letzten beiden Tage unserer Reise haben wir in Troyes und Strasbourg verbracht, beide sehr malerisch mit all den wunderhübschen Fachwerkhäusern.

The last two days of our trip we spent in Troyes (Champagne) and Strasbourg (Alsace), both beautiful towns with all those lovely frame houses.

Leider war die Reise viel zu schnell vorbei, ich hätte gerne in den einzelnen Orten mehr Zeit gehabt.

Ich hoffe Ihr habt durch die Fotos einen kleinen Eindruck von unserer Reise bekommen.

Unfortunately our journey was way too short, I would have loved to have more time for each place.
